The University of York Europe Campus organised a successful panel discussion titled Leadership in the Age of AI in Bucharest, bringing together academics, industry leaders, and alumni to examine how artificial intelligence is transforming leadership in contemporary organisations.

The event was moderated by Prof. Leslie Szamosi, Dean of the School of Business, Director of the Executive Development Institute (ExDI), and Director of the Pan-European Executive MBA.

The discussion focused on the evolving role of leadership in an era of rapid technological advancement. A key message emerging from the panel was that while AI enhances efficiency, analysis, and decision-making, it cannot replace the fundamental human dimensions of leadership, including vision, trust, ethics, and judgement.
Panelists included Prof. Panayiotis Ketikidis, Vice-Provost (Research and Innovation) and National Representative of Greece for the European Innovation Council (EIC), who contributed perspectives on innovation and leadership in the context of emerging technologies. The panel also included three alumni, namely Inamely, Indi Catrina, Senior Manager, CSS Management Service, Oracle, Roxana Moldovan, Director of Engineering Program Management at Adobe and Marius Ionita, CEO Alumil Romania – whose perspectives and professional experiences added depth and inspiration to the conversation.

Mr. Tasos Manos, President of the Board of the Association of Hellenic Technology Enterprises (SETPE) and Managing Director of DOTSOFT S.A., also contributed to the discussion, offering reflections on the human dimension of leadership in the era of AI.

The University of York Europe Campus thanks all speakers, alumni, and participants for their contributions to a constructive and insightful discussion.
