According to Greek legislation governing admission to non-state universities, Greek or foreign citizens who hold a General Upper Secondary School Certificate (General Lyceum) or a Vocational Upper Secondary School Certificate (EPAL) must have achieved an average score in the four (4) nationally examined subjects equal to or higher than the minimum admission threshold.
This threshold is calculated based on the lowest average score of all candidates per scientific field, multiplied by a coefficient of zero point eight (0.8), for the year in which the candidate sat the Panhellenic Examinations. Applicants wishing to apply for this undergraduate programme must meet the following requirements:
Admission to the University of York Europe Campus is based on an overall and holistic assessment of each applicant’s academic profile and future academic potential. This assessment takes into account: the performance in the Panhellenic Examinations, the Upper Secondary School Leaving Certificate grade, the proficiency in the English language of the candidate.
In certain cases where the Leaving Certificate grade is below 17 but not lower than 15, a personal interview may be required. The purpose of the interview is a holistic assessment of the applicant’s potential, taking into account additional factors such as: a Panhellenic Examination score exceeding the Minimum Admission Threshold (EBE), the motivation and personal goals, the particular skills or talents, the achievements and overall personal profile. Where necessary, grades from previous years of upper secondary education deemed may also be considered, allowing the applicant to present their academic journey and demonstrate their potential for successful participation and progression in university studies.
