The Psychology Department of the University of York Europe Campus has excellent reputation due to the high quality of teaching and research. Our academic staff is strongly committed to excellence in research and in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Teaching is informed by the latest scientific research and cultivates development of critical thinking, self-development, and academic and professional ethos. The department’s academic staff, all hold a PhD degree, have intensive research activity and significant professional experience.
Dedicated to serving the community through its teaching and research, the department extends its activities with two innovative community services:
The Community Counselling Centre which is open to the public and provides counselling services under the supervision of the department’s experts and E-help, an online service through which the Psychology Department offers free psychological support through the Internet.
Our Psychology graduates can register to the HCPC and officially receive the title of Practitioner Psychologist in the UK
Our Graduates of Bachelor in Psychology who continued their studies to Masters level and have been awarded our MSc in Counselling Psychology (along with adequate practical experience in a related field) or our MA in Counselling Psychology with a Practicum, can apply for registration to the Health and Care Professions Council – HCPC through the International route and may also acquire the Europsy certificate in Psychology, by the European Federation of Psychologists Associations (EFPA).

On behalf of the psychology department, I welcome you to this exciting journey of studying an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the fast developing field of Psychology. We are a vibrant community of academics who engage with basic and applied research to make a difference in our society, and are committed to a student-centered approach to learning & education. We are looking forward to a creative and rewarding interaction and collaboration with you during your time studying at the department. In addition to the core learning activities related to the curriculum, we encourage you to take advantage of the many extracurricular activities that the department and the wider academic community has to offer, such as clubs, research participation opportunities, community oriented initiatives (e.g., volunteering initiatives) and socializing activities. Through these extracurricular activities you can gain valuable experiences that will contribute to your growth as a person and a future professional in Psychology or other fields.
