Zoi Tatsioka

Dr Tatsioka completed her PhD in Sociolinguistics on the language contact phenomena of loanword use and code-switching in the Greek media. She has taught Translation and Interpreting to postgraduate students at Heriot-Watt University for three years, and in 2010 she joined the Europe Campus. Since then she has delivered various Linguistics units at postgraduate and undergraduate level and has supervised numerous dissertation projects, and a PhD project on language attitudes. Before being appointed as Head of the Humanities Department, Dr Tatsioka had served as the Departmental Research Director and Ethics Coordinator. In terms of funded research projects, she has participated in the Language Rich Europe Project (co-funded by the European Commission and managed by the British Council) and was a core member of the English in Europe: Opportunity or Threat? network (funded by the Leverhulme Trust). She is currently working on the SUPPORTER project which aims at advancing gender equality in sports higher education in Central and Eastern Europe. Dr Tatsioka is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
