Department:

Dr. Ourania Mangira is a Lecturer at the University of York Europe Campus. She holds a PhD in Statistical Seismology from the Geophysics Department, School of Geology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, supported by a State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y.) award. Her doctoral research focused on the stochastic modeling of earthquake generation processes in Greece, with applications in seismic hazard assessment.

She also holds a BSc in Mathematics and an MSc in Mathematics with specialization in Statistics and Modeling, both from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Dr. Mangira’s research interests include point processes, probability theory, data analysis, and stochastic modeling. She has contributed to several completed research projects and has published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Mangira has presented her work at major international conferences, including the International Workshop on Statistical Seismology and the International Workshop on Applied Probability, as well as national meetings of the Hellenic Statistical Institute.
