Maria Matiaki

Dr. Maria Matiaki is a Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol, BPS), EuroPsy Psychologist, and Certified Practice Supervisor (BPS) with over 20 years of teaching experience in academic institutions across Greece and the USA. She lectures in Counselling Psychology, Psychotherapy, and Core Skills for Clinical Psychology, and provides clinical supervision to counselling and psychotherapy trainees.

Her PhD research focused on the psychotherapy change process, examining how interventions lead to lasting client transformation. Her work integrates empirical analysis with clinical insight, offering contributions to both therapeutic practice and the development of academic programs in Counselling and Clinical Psychology. Alongside her academic role, Dr. Matiaki maintains a private psychotherapy practice, offering a pluralistic and tailored therapeutic experience. Her approach integrates psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive-behavioral principles, informed by philosophical foundations across modalities.
