Makrina Choidou holds a PhD from the Faculty of Law of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the field of Civil Law. Her doctoral thesis, entitled “The Determination of the Amount of Monetary Satisfaction for Non-Pecuniary Damage”, was published by Sakkoulas (2020). She is admitted to the Thessaloniki Bar Association and serves as Legal Counsel to “Ethniki – Hellenic General Insurance Company S.A.”, “Geniki Taxydromiki Courier Services S.A.”, “Mandoulides Schools S.A.”, as well as to commercial companies operating in the export sector. She has extensive experience on litigation and advisory practice with emphasis on corporate and civil law.

Within the framework of the programme “Acquisition of Academic Teaching Experience for Early-Career PhD Holders 2022–2023” at the International Hellenic University, she taught Labour Law and Commercial Law at the International Hellenic University.

At the York Europe Campus Law School, she teaches the modules “General Principles of Civil Law I” and “General Principles of Civil Law II” as part of the Undergraduate Programme titled “Greek Law with Elements of English Law”, as well as the courses “Issues in the Law of Legal Persons and Commercial Companies” and the module “Electronic Commerce and Legal Technologies” as part of the Postgraduate Programme titled “Business Law”.
