Lemonia Kareli

Lecturer
Department:

I am currently a Part-time Lecturer with extensive experience in teaching English as a Foreign/International Language, curriculum design, and academic management. Previously, I served as Director of Studies at Twin Academy in Nottingham, where I was responsible for curriculum development, faculty coordination, quality assurance, and student academic support. My background also includes roles as an ESP Teacher for the Ministry of Tourism, Senior Teacher at Bede’s Summer School, Examiner at Anatolia College, and several EFL teaching and tutoring positions across Greece, the UK, and abroad.

I am an experienced English language teacher with a background spanning General English, Business English, ESP, and exam preparation for learners of all ages and levels. I have taught in diverse contexts across Greece, the UK, and abroad, including roles as Lecturer, Senior Teacher, ESP Teacher, Examiner, and private/online tutor. I specialize in communicative, learner-centered teaching that adapts to varied educational needs and professional fields.

My research interests center on language teaching methodologies, with a particular focus on communicative and learner-centered approaches that enhance engagement and foster autonomy. I am especially interested in exploring how task-based learning, differentiated instruction, and the integration of authentic materials can improve language acquisition across varied learner profiles. Additionally, I am keen to investigate effective strategies for teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and adapting methodologies to support learners with special educational needs, ensuring inclusivity and equal access to language education.
