Dr. Pasmatzi earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the Department of English Language and Literature at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2006. She moved on to pursue her studies in Translation and Intercultural Studies at the CTIS, University of Manchester, where she completed her MA (2008) and her PhD (2014). She has been a member of the Europe Campus of the Univeristy of York, CITY College since 2015. She has also been the Research Director of the Humanities Department since 2018 and the Doctoral Programme Director of CITY College since 2022. She has presented and participated in a series of events (conferences, symposia, panels) in the UK and in Europe and has also acted as a peer reviewer for academic journals in the field of Translation Studies. She has published primarily on the sociology of translation and literary translation and is currently working on a book on German-Greek cultural and literary encounters. Dr. Pasmatzi has also been actively involved in research projects undertaken by the South-East European Research Centre with a strong focus on the South-East European region
