Kalliopi Mitka graduated from the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1997 and continued her academic studies receiving a diploma in European law in Business Administration from the Institute of Technological Education of the University of Le Mans and a postgraduate diploma in commercial law from the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In 2007 she was awarded a PhD from the same School with the grade “Suma cum laude”. Her thesis is entitled “Documents in the international land transport of goods-CMR consignment note COTIF-CIM railway waybill” for which she received a full scholarship from the State Foundation of Scholarships. Since 2009 she has been teaching in higher education at undergraduate and postgraduate level. She has published studies in collective works and scientific journals and comments on court decisions. She participated as a speaker in conferences and training seminars at the National School of Judges. For a long time she contributed to the editing of the scientific journal “Review of Commercial Law” of Sakkoulas Publications. Her teaching work and research interests focus on the field of commercial law and in particular transport and securities law, competition and intellectual property law, insolvency law as well as international transaction law.

Kalliopi Mitka taught the course “Law of International Energy Sale and Transport” in the interdepartmental postgraduate program of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, “Law and Energy Engineering, the courses “Competition and Intellectual Property Law” and “Law of International Transactions,” in the postgraduate program of the Hellenic Open University and the University of Nicosia, while she also supervised theses, and the course “Competition Law” n the postgraduate distance learning program of the Law School of the University of Nicosia. She has also delivered lectures in the postgraduate programs “International and European Economics” of the Department of Accountant of the International Hellenic University and “Law and Economics” of the University of Macedonia.
At the undergraduate level, as an adjunct lecturer at Democritus University of Thrace, she has undertaken the duty of co-teaching of the courses of “Maritime Law” and “Consumer Protection Law.”
As an adjunct lecturer at the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, she was responsible for the independent teaching and examination of the courses “Maritime Law,” “Competition Law,” and “Intellectual Property Law,” while she was assigned to prepare postgraduate students for participation in academic conferences.
As a scientific associate with full qualifications at the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki (now International Hellenic University), she independently taught, prepared teaching material, and conducted examinations in the undergraduate courses “Labour Law” and “Commercial Law” of the Department of Accounting and Finance (School of Business Administration), as well as “Elements of Civil and Commercial Law” in the Department of Agricultural Development (School of Technology of Agri-Food and Environment).

At the York Europe Campus Law School, she teaches the modules “Competition and Intellectual Property Law” and “Banking and Private Insurance Law” as part of the Undergraduate Program titled “Greek Law with Common Law”, the modules “Issues in Banking Transactions Law and Corporate Insolvency” and “Internal Market Law: Unfair and Free Competition” as part of the Postgraduate Programme titled “Business Law” and the module “EU and International Competition Law” as part of the Postgraduate Program titled “LLM in European and International Business Law.”
