Kalliopi Mitka graduated from the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1997 and continued her academic studies receiving a diploma in European law in Business Administration from the Institute of Technological Education of the University of Le Mans and a postgraduate diploma in commercial law from the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In 2007 she was awarded a PhD from the same School with the grade “Suma cum laude”. Her thesis is entitled “Documents in the international land transport of goods-CMR consignment note COTIF-CIM railway waybill” for which she received a full scholarship from the State Foundation of Scholarships. Since 2009 she has been teaching in higher education at undergraduate and postgraduate level. She has published studies in collective works and scientific journals and comments on court decisions. She participated as a speaker in conferences and training seminars at the National School of Judges. For a long time she contributed to the editing of the scientific journal “Review of Commercial Law” of Sakkoulas Publications. Her teaching work and research interests focus on the field of commercial law and in particular transport and securities law, competition and intellectual property law, insolvency law as well as international transaction law.
