Eleni Antoniadou

Eleni Antoniadou holds the position of Lecturer at the newly established Law School of York Europe Campus in Thessaloniki. She graduated with a grade of 9.10 from the Faculty of Law of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2015 and in 2018 she obtained her postgraduate diploma in Labour Law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with distinction. In 2023, she completed with distinction her doctoral dissertation at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, focusing on the protection against dismissal under national and european law, specifically the impact of Article 24 of the Revised European Social Charter on the formation of national dismissal protection law. She has received several distinctions, awards and commendations for excellence during her studies, as well as scholarships from the State Scholarship Foundation and the Onassis Foundation. She has published papers in various scientific journals and contributed to collective volumes, while her first monograph is expected to be published soon.

At the Law School of York Europe Campus, she will be teaching “Employment Law”, “Special Issues of Employment and Social Securities Law” and “ESG”.

She has taught the undergraduate modules “Contemporary Issues of Labour Law – Precarious Labour Relations”, “Collective Labour Law” and “International and European Labour Law” at the Faculty of Law of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki during the spring semester of the academic year 2024/2025, within the framework of the implementation of the project “Acquisition of Academic Teaching Experience for Young Scientists Holding a Doctorate at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki”.

Her research interests mainly focus on the fields of Individual and European and International Labour Law, as well as International Human Rights Law. She has delved deeply into the Law of Termination of the Employment Contract, in the context of which she has extensively addressed the issue of protection against dismissal as mandated by international and supranational sources of Labour Law.
