Utilizing Google Scholar and generative AI in academic research

Google Scholar

Google Scholar is a specialized search engine that indexes a vast range of academic materials, making it an excellent starting point for scholarly research. In many cases, it provides access to the full text of publications rather than just bibliographic information; however, full-text access is not always guaranteed.

Generative AI in academic work

Generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT and Gemini, are powerful technologies capable of generating extensive content. While these tools can be valuable in various contexts, their use in academic work requires careful consideration. It is essential to consult your instructor to determine whether AI-generated content is permissible and to understand any applicable guidelines or restrictions.

Additionally, exercise caution when using AI-generated citations—while they may appear legitimate, they are often fabricated and should always be verified against credible academic sources.
