The University of York Europe Campus, CITY U.L.E  Library constitutes a cutting-edge academic infrastructure, encompassing the Central Library along with regional branches across all academic units. Beyond the institution’s own resources, students, researchers, and academic staff benefit from comprehensive access to a broad array of electronic resources and services provided directly by the University of York.

The Library fosters an innovative learning and research environment—both physical and digital—integrating the following key features:

The library provides a seamless working environment that enables users to access, manage, and create information all in one place. Students studying, doing research, preparing for assignments and projects or practising for presentations, can access resources and collections, use software or equipment, and write, without changing location. Library and IT staff are available to assist users with their reference and technology needs from a single point simplifying services.

GALINI Campus Library
The GALINI Campus Library, located at the Oraiokastro premises, is a specialised academic and research hub dedicated to supporting the learning, teaching, and research needs of students and academic staff in the disciplines of Computer Science and Psychology. At the same time, it serves as a collaborative and intellectual space for the broader University of York Europe Campus academic community.


Purpose

The primary objective of the Library is to support and enhance the teaching, research, and learning activities of the academic community and student body while contributing to the overall intellectual and professional development of the University. This mission is realized through the provision of high-quality scholarly resources aligned with the University’s curriculum, the integration of state-of-the-art technologies that facilitate learning, and the delivery of exceptional library services.

Goals and objectives

The Library is committed to achieving the following objectives:

  • Establishing efficient organizational and administrative structures to ensure the seamless provision of library facilities, resources, and services to all users, irrespective of their geographical location.
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive collections and resources that address and support the full spectrum of the University’s educational and research activities, across multiple formats to ensure accessibility for all users.
  • Continuously enriching library collections, integrating emerging technologies, and enhancing the quality of services provided to the academic and student community.
  • Fostering national and international collaborations with academic libraries and institutions to strengthen research opportunities and expand resource accessibility.
  • Providing ongoing professional development and lifelong learning opportunities for library staff to ensure excellence in service delivery.
