The Executive Development Institute designed a four-session seminar for Gountsidis Super Market, focused on Leadership Development and Organisational Behaviour.
The programme was developed for managerial staff and addressed the growing need for effective leadership, stronger communication, improved team dynamics, and a deeper understanding of employee behaviour within the modern workplace.
The seminar explored both the strategic and interpersonal dimensions of leadership. Participants were introduced to proven leadership methodologies and practical tools that can help managers guide, motivate, and inspire their teams more effectively.
Key areas covered included communication, team motivation, conflict resolution, responsibility, commitment, expectation-setting, employee engagement, organisational culture, human behaviour in the workplace, and the development of a positive organisational climate.
The organisational behaviour component helped participants better understand the psychological and social factors that influence employee attitudes, motivation, collaboration, and performance. Through lectures, exercises, case study analysis, and group discussions, participants were encouraged to reflect on their leadership practices and identify practical ways to strengthen teamwork, productivity, and employee morale.
The seminar was led by Dr Giovanni Serafini, Associate Professor at the University of York.
