Department:

Professor Matopoulos is Chair in Supply Chain Design and Logistics Systems at Cranfield University and Visiting Professor at the University of Lille 2, France. He is also the founder and principal of Supply Chain Gnosis Ltd, a consultancy specializing in the strategic assessment and design of logistics and supply chain capabilities. His research contributions span multiple EU-funded projects (FP6, FP7, Horizon 2020, ERDF), with a focus on sectors such as manufacturing, agri-food, healthcare, and humanitarian logistics.

He serves as an external evaluator for the French National Research Agency (ANR) and the Canada Excellence Research Chairs Program. In 2019, he was appointed Royal Society Short Industry Fellow, collaborating with Williams Advanced Engineering on future-oriented supply chain strategies. His industrial partnerships include Jaguar Land Rover, Marks & Spencer, Saietta Group, and numerous SMEs. Professor Aris is a frequent keynote speaker and workshop leader across the UK and Europe on logistics innovation and supply chain transformation.
