From research to action: advancing equity in EU Green Deal policies
ACCTING (AdvanCing behavioural Change Through an INclusive Green deal) was an EU-funded project analysing the impact of Green Deal policies on vulnerable groups and producing knowledge and innovations to advance behavioural change at individual and collective levels. Running until May 2025, the project aimed to prevent the (re)production of inequalities, with a specific focus on the gender+ perspective, for an inclusive and equal EU Green Deal.
Twelve partners – supported by a wide network of researchers – collect inspiring initiatives in the EU27, UK, Norway, Serbia, Turkey, USA, Brazil and Japan, and analyse qualitative and quantitative data following eight interdisciplinary thematic research lines. Thanks to an innovative co-creation process engaging various stakeholders, this extensive data is then translated into a new research agenda, policy recommendations, and innovative pilot actions to foster a fairer EU Green Deal.
SEERC led the research on “Values associated with Environmentally Sustainable Food Production” and was also involved in research on sustainable mobility, transport poverty and food safety. Additionally SEERC led the effort to produce solutions out of the research which resulted in 10 Pilot Actions in 6 European countries, 13 Factsheets with Guidelines and Policy Recommendations and a set of Future Research Agendas.
