Terms of references

To overall supervise the CITY ULE's activities and to provide steer and leadership on the academic and strategic direction of the CITY ULE.
To discuss and decide the main policies, strategies and tactics of CITY ULE.
To manage the budget.
To understand and interpret the strategic environment affecting the institution and higher education to inform decision making.
To develop, formulate and deliver the strategic and operational plans of the CITY ULE..
To monitor the running of the Schools and Departments and their progress in achieving their goals in every field without interfering with their autonomous structure.
To introduce and agree on core and key policies and procedures.
To monitor and review the performance of the CITY ULE Strategy and the academic and operational performance.
To ensure the academic development of the CITY ULE with respect to education and research.
To apply constant quality assessment of the education provided.
To manage personnel.
To develop and support staff in realising their career aspirations and the wider education and research mission of the CITY ULE.
To protect and promote the interests of students.
To work closely with senior academic and professional service leaders in order to understand activity across the institution and ensure strategy is in line with requirements.
To activate and maintain links and relationships within the community.
To engage and seek to influence the external environment in which the CITY ULE operates.
